Director Damien Chazelle is gearing up for his next movie, Babylon, and possibly reuniting with actress Emma Stone in a lead role. After Stone lead Chazelle’s La La Land in 2016, the duo is anticipated to return with another film set in Hollywood. Babylon is set in 1920’s Hollywood, with a mix of real-life and fictional characters. It revolves around the transitional period from silent films to talkies. Babylon is to be produced by Marc Platt, who produced La La Land, as well as Tobey Maguire and Olivia Hamilton.

Deadline Hollywood was the first to report the news, and Deadline reporter Mike Fleming Jr. dispels the rumor that Chazelle is releasing another musical. Studios are eager to land the film, and Lionsgate is rumored to be the strongest contender at the moment.
